Wayne is a Former New Zealand Police Detective with over 30 years of investigative experience. Ex New Zealand Post Security manager and a recognised security expert Wayne has diverse skills.
Experience
Detective, worked mainly serious crime including several Homicides. Arrested David Tamihere for the murder of the Swedish tourists in Operation Stockholm.
Awarded two Silver Merit Awards for performance. Successfully lead a New Zealand Post National Security Team of 10 staff.
Developed a combination of investigation and proactive strategies for the team to achieve. Developed a reporting database, producing statistics and reporting protocols to support effectiveness. Lead the team through development of Kiwibank, unique opportunity to apply security to start up bank within budgets, developing security strategies, processes, procedures and training.
Developed new responses to initial spate of Robberies in corporate and Franchise network. Engaged employees at all levels developing new procedures, training and responses procedures and delivery of same. Responsibility for developing risk matrix’s for robbery prevention to enable effective delivery of prevention services for safety of staff. Developed and implemented Fraud prevention package for retail network, responsibility for delivery of training within strict timelines. Effectively managed the responses that Anthrax posed to NZ Post in balancing the protection of people, and the operation of the business, including liaison with the Police and emergency authorities.
