Expertise

Ron, is regarded as a leading figure in the New Zealand Professional Investigation sector, heading New Zealand’s largest privately owned entity.

For the past 28 years, Ron has worked tirelessly to promote and advance the PI industry in New Zealand and has been elected three times as the Chairman of the Industry’s body NZIPI, http://www.nzipi.org.nz re-elected as Chairman again at the AGM on 8 October 2010. In that role has made submissions to and presented at Parliament in regard to the new Private Investigators legislation.

Ron has been involved in many high profile investigations for corporates, government agencies and other entities. He is regularly asked to give industry comment by the media and has appeared several times on programmes such as 60 Mins, Closeup and the TV news. He appears as part of the team in Missing Pieces series 3, having worked on the first two series.

Ron is often asked to present on various related topics at conferences and training sessions for government and other business sectors.

He runs two day training courses in his capacity as an investigative mentor for experienced investigators wishing to enter the PI profession.

A man totally committed to our profession, Ron is the lead investigator for our partnership with EMA and he still conducts investigations when requested as well as personally overseeing our other work. For example, one of his latest roles was to take on the Cold Case of Lee Sheppard and he travelled to London in November 2008 and solved that case, when the Metropolitan Police had failed for 6 years previous.

Ron is dedicated to his clients and team, he is not afraid of the difficult tasks and if that is not enough likes to jump out of planes in his spare time.

In 2009 Ron was awarded the NZ Insurance Investigator of the year award for his outstanding investigative work in that field.   

Experience

• Over 30 years Investigation experience.

• Former Police Officer, Glasgow, Scotland and has conducted investigations worldwide, including being permitted to spend a month working on a case, based out of a London Met Police office in December 2008.

• Has investigated numerous fraud matters for clients in New Zealand.

• Has lectured to numerous government agencies on fraud and enforcement.

• Presenter at New Zealand Insurance Institute fraud forums. Lectured at the New Zealand Insurance Ombudsman’s inaugural Conference on insurance fraud.
