Local Body candidates

Is it just me but when I hear a candidate saying "I am standing for the people not politics" I think they just don't get it !!

Voting to my mind is political, being elected is political and if elected you can be sure everything you have done, said, will say, will do, etc is then political, just ask David Garrett.

How can you achieve anything "in Politics" without support of other "politicians". How can you survive if they don't support you, just ask the countless fallen. 

A case for a good spin doctor perhaps, but then again it's a sad indictment when a person in their first speach as an MP has to state they have no criminal convictions.
